This "Aging in Place" remodel in its initial stages opens up the space of an existing two compartment bathroom. Walls are to be removed from an existing compartmentalized commode which frees up space and all accessible clearances are honored. An existing tub is removed and a curb-less glass enclosed shower stall with 36" wide door will allow light from an existing glass block window to enter the room. A new modular vanity will allow the removal of a 30" wide module in the event that accessibility ever becomes a requirement. Tilting mirrors are also featured.
During the course of their life this family had loved the outdoors and their travels are well documented throughout the home with beautiful photo's evoking a "Southwest" theme. The theme is elaborated in the bath with the use of rich earth tones in the tile work and the use of a stepped motif in the cabinet doors. Brilliant light pours through the glass block window in the shower filling the room.
